The OTT streaming service JioCinema, which is owned by Viacom18, intends to introduce an ad-lite pricing structure. Currently, JioCinema is available as a paid subscription with a Premium Plan. The annual subscription fee was INR 999 at the time of launch. The yearly subscription model was replaced by a monthly subscription model, which now costs INR 99 per month, according to the company.

It is anticipated that the new ad-lite subscription model will be different from the current one, with a budget-friendly strategy aimed at customers who wish to switch to ad-lite at a reasonable cost. Many referred to the platform’s free IPL streaming last year as a customer acquisition strategy and said paywalls would be implemented in the near future.
