HUL Promotes Vipul Mathur to Executive Director – Personal Care

HUL has announced a significant addition to its Management Committee. Vipul Mathur will join the HUL Management Committee as Executive Director, Personal Care, beginning June 1st, 2024.

HUL Elevates Vipul Mathur to ED – Personal Care

Vipul, the current Head of Growth and Transformation for South Asia, joined HUL in 2003 as a management trainee after earning his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta. He has over 20 years of experience in customer development and marketing, working in the fields of nutrition, personal care, and home care. He takes over for Madhusudhan Rao, who took temporary charge of the company after Kartik Chandrasekhar left. When Chandrasekhar resigned in February to pursue other opportunities, he was previously appointed to the position of ED, personal care.

Vipul’s tenure at HUL

Vipul had great success in the laundry industry from 2012 to 2017 and again in 2020–2021. He oversaw Wheel’s Rural and Mobile Marketing efforts and was a key player in the introduction of India’s first mobile radio platform, Kan Khajura Teshan (KKT), which won a Cannes award and featured branded content from ten Unilever brands. In his role as Category Head, he oversaw the program for portfolio transformation, grew the Liquids division, and produced profitable and competitive growth.

During his tenure on the Global Tea Leadership team from 2017 to 2020, Vipul collaborated with teams in South Asia, Indonesia, UAE, UK&I, and Australia. He was successful in securing new mixes for the category and creating award-winning marketing campaigns for Brooke Bond. He led customer relationships and developed internal cross-functional capabilities in his previous position as Vice President for Modern Trade and eCommerce, strengthening the company’s omnichannel strategy and driving portfolio transformation for HUL in high-growth emerging channels.
