What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn or try but haven’t had the chance to yet?

Dabbling with graphics and design software is something I’ve always wanted to learn as a complementary skill to my profession, but somehow, I haven’t got around to it. Sometimes, you have a crystal-clear visual of an idea in your head but lack the technical know-how to translate it. It’s not a replacement, but lately, I’ve begun to tremendously enjoy using generative AI to conjure up visuals. The outcome—whether accurate or not—is always interesting!

What defining career moment shaped your perspective and the professional you are today?

There was a particular campaign I worked on in 2021—a seemingly small one at the time. Amazingly, the idea was met with such tremendous enthusiasm from the client that it not only became a brand IP but also an industry benchmark. Now, in 2025, it remains as active, refreshing, and awe-inducing as ever. I’ve always been deeply connected to my work, but I guess this was the first time I truly felt that in an industry that’s rapidly evolving and filled with incredible talent, this might be something I’m pretty good at! Since then, my perspective has shifted—I take unorthodox leaps, rely on instinct, and strive to evoke the specific, subliminal emotional response that the brief demands.

If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?

Ten years in, it’s hard to imagine doing anything other than what I do! But it has also been a long-honed desire of mine to author a book, and I like to think that at some point, I will get around to it.

How do you stay motivated during tough or challenging times?

With a rapid pace comes the inevitable feeling of falling into a creative rut, which can feel very defeating! The first and most important step is to recognize this and then match the pace with a good, healthy dose of pause. For me, that happens by watching comfort films or indulging in an unexpected creative pursuit that I might not otherwise—just to shake up the monotony.

How can companies foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for women leaders?

There’s power in numbers, and in a broad sense, I believe the first step is to break away from the ā€œonlyā€ narrative—being the ā€œonlyā€ woman in a senior leadership team, which can feel quite isolating and overwhelming. Being in a company that, despite operating in a male-dominated industry, has organically skewed toward incredibly impressive and talented women, I’ve found that fostering a culture where seeing women succeed is one of the most rewarding aspects of a job—because of how normalized it is.

In your opinion, what is the most essential skill for women to develop in today’s fast-changing business world?

One of the most important skills for women to develop—and this may come from a place that’s purely subjective, given my own professional persona—is self-advocacy. Actively positioning oneself for significant opportunities, influencing decision-making, and navigating organizational structures without being sidelined are crucial. Self-advocacy is a game-changer in securing that well-deserved seat at the table.
