TBWA\Chiat\Day has appointed Lea Mastroberti as US CEO, bringing her agency-building and business growth experience to the network as it enters its next phase of development.
Mastroberti will focus on building on the agency’s recent creative and new business momentum while bringing its US talent and capabilities closer together to address evolving client requirements.
She most recently founded and led LePub New York. Her career spans more than 20 years in agency leadership, with previous roles at Droga5 New York, Accenture Song, Grey New York, McCann North America and 360i. In 2023, she was recognised as Campaign US Account Person of the Year.
Her appointment comes as brands increasingly seek specialised expertise, greater flexibility and senior agency leaders who remain closely involved with their businesses. In her new position, Mastroberti will work alongside the global TBWA\Worldwide leadership team while helping expand capabilities across social-first content, design and complex B2B marketing.
The appointment follows a period of strong creative and business performance for Chiat and the wider TBWA Collective. The network secured half of this year’s Emmy nominations for Outstanding Commercial and ranked among the top three networks at Cannes Lions, where Columbia Sportswear’s ‘Expedition Impossible’ was the festival’s most-awarded campaign. TBWA\Media Arts Lab was also recognised as Craft Agency of the Year.
In the US market, Chiat has recently secured new business from brands across fashion, retail, CPG and finance, including two account wins in the month preceding the appointment.
“With Disruption as our guiding philosophy, we have long rejected conventional ways of working and focused instead on rallying the best talent to solve our clients’ challenges. Uniting our offices under one CEO will only further strengthen our ability to deliver on that approach. I cannot wait to partner with Lea to further accelerate our momentum. She brings all the creative ambition, rigor and humanity that is quintessential Chiat.” said Erin Riley, global CEO, TBWA\Worldwide.
“What drew me to TBWA\Chiat\Day is its rare combination of a rich creative legacy and a clear commitment to Disruption. I’ve spent my career embracing change, and I’m excited to build on what has always made the agency special while helping shape what it needs to become next.” said Lea.
Mastroberti will officially take up the US CEO position at TBWA\Chiat\Day on October 19 and will report to Riley. She will be based in New York.
