Samsung India has promoted Shirish Agarwal to Head of Marketing for its Mobile eXperience (MX) business, reinforcing its leadership team as competition in the premium smartphone market continues to intensify.
In his new role, Agarwal will oversee marketing initiatives for Samsung India’s smartphones, tablets, and wearable portfolio from the company’s Gurugram office. His responsibilities will include strengthening brand positioning and leading strategic campaigns for upcoming premium product launches.
The elevation marks another milestone in Agarwal’s return stint with Samsung India. He rejoined the company in August 2023 as Director of Marketing and has since played a significant role in expanding the visibility and positioning of Samsung’s premium offerings.
Prior to rejoining Samsung, Agarwal spent four years at Panasonic India as Head of Marketing Communication and Brand, where he led several brand transformation and consumer engagement initiatives. Over the years, he has also held key marketing roles at HP in its Imaging and Printing division, Times Internet, and Cyber Media, building extensive experience across consumer technology, digital platforms, and brand storytelling.
Agarwal also brings strong academic credentials to the position. He earned an MBA in Marketing from South Korea’s Sungkyunkwan University through the Samsung Global Scholarship Program and also holds an MBA in Advertising and Communication from EMPI Business School.
