Google has expanded the capabilities of Search Console with the introduction of Platform Properties, a new feature that enables creators and brands to measure how content published on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube is discovered through Google Search and Google Discover.
The update reflects the growing role of creator-led and social content in online discovery, as users increasingly rely on short-form videos, social posts, and creator recommendations for information, entertainment, and purchasing decisions. As this content becomes more visible within Google’s search ecosystem, the new feature provides creators and marketers with deeper insights into search-driven performance.
With Platform Properties, users can access key metrics such as clicks, impressions, and search queries that lead audiences to their social content. The feature also highlights top-performing posts, audience discovery patterns, and milestone-based achievements, helping creators and brands better understand how their content performs beyond the native analytics offered by individual platforms.
The expansion marks a significant evolution for Search Console, which has traditionally focused on website performance and search engine optimization. By extending reporting capabilities to third-party social platforms, Google acknowledges that a growing share of searchable content now exists outside owned websites.
For creators, the update provides greater visibility into how audiences discover their content through Google Search rather than solely within social media platforms. The additional insights can help identify topics, keywords, and content formats that generate sustained search visibility, enabling more informed content strategies focused on long-term discoverability.
Brands investing in influencer and creator marketing can also benefit from the new reporting capabilities. In addition to measuring engagement metrics such as views, likes, comments, and shares, marketers can now evaluate whether creator collaborations contribute to search visibility, long-term traffic, and organic discovery through Google.
The platform also enables brands to assess which creator content appears most frequently in search results, identify search queries associated with branded campaigns, determine how long campaign content continues attracting visitors, and compare search-driven performance across supported social platforms.
The launch underscores Google’s continued evolution of search by integrating more creator content, social media posts, and video experiences into search results. As consumer search behavior shifts toward authentic creator content and social-first recommendations, the enhanced reporting capabilities position Search Console as a broader measurement tool for today’s content ecosystem.
