September 23, 2026 – AppsFlyer has announced it has expanded its organic search attribution to cover Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), giving marketers independent measurement of how customers discover and return to their apps through AI engines, including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, and Manus, alongside 13 traditional search engines such as Google, Bing, Baidu, Naver, and Yandex.
“AI answer engines are becoming a primary discovery surface, and marketers have had no independent way to measure traffic coming from AEO, let alone which AI engine sent it,” said Alexia Nakad, GM, EMEA West, AppsFlyer. “This gives them one neutral read on organic AI traffic, whether it happens on mobile or desktop, in an app or a browser, the same rigor we’ve applied to search for years, now extended to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and the rest of the answer-engine field. Marketers can finally see what they earned versus what they paid for, in one place, measured the same way every time.”
On platforms that carry both paid and organic traffic, marketers can now separate the two cleanly, isolating the true incremental lift of an ad campaign from what organic mentions were already driving. It gives brands one consistent, cross-platform view of AI-driven discovery rather than a patchwork of self-reported numbers from each engine. The measurement covers re-engagement for customers who already have an advertiser’s app, and install attribution for those who don’t yet.
The update follows AppsFlyer’s earlier 2026 announcement of its ChatGPT Ads integration, which brought mobile app measurement to paid campaigns in ChatGPT through OpenAI’s Conversions API. Together, the two give marketers a full picture of AI-driven discovery, paid and organic, in a single platform.
