Tyler Turnbull Set to Lead WPP Creative as Global CEO

Published on: October 8, 2026

Tyler Turnbull, currently Global CEO of McCann, is expected to take over as Global CEO of WPP Creative, according to media reports. He is likely to succeed Jon Cook, who is expected to leave the role by March.

Details around Turnbull’s responsibilities beyond WPP Creative have not yet been confirmed. He had previously been considered for the Global CEO position at Ogilvy before Laurent Ezekiel was appointed to the role in late 2025.

Turnbull became Global CEO of McCann in December 2025 after Omnicom completed its acquisition of IPG. He currently oversees McCann as one of three creative networks under Omnicom Advertising, alongside BBDO and TBWA.

His career at IPG-owned FCB began in 2014, when he was brought in to lead a turnaround of the agency’s Canadian operations. He later moved to oversee FCB’s New York office before becoming CEO of FCB North America in 2019.

Turnbull was promoted to Global CEO of FCB in 2022, leading the network until Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG resulted in a broader restructuring. As part of the changes, FCB was integrated into BBDO.

His expected move to WPP Creative would mark another major leadership transition for the global advertising group as it continues to shape its creative business.
