Salesforce Appoints Virginia Sharma as CMO, Missionforce

Salesforce has appointed Virginia Sharma as Chief Marketing Officer, Missionforce, where she will oversee the company’s global public sector marketing operations.

In her new role, Sharma will lead Salesforce’s worldwide public sector marketing team across product and field marketing. Her responsibilities will include shaping the narrative around Missionforce and Salesforce’s engagement with public sector organisations.

Sharma announced her new position through a LinkedIn post.

She joins Salesforce after more than four and a half years at Google. Most recently, she served as Head of Brand and Product Marketing, Google Public Sector. She previously held the position of Head of Marketing, Google Cloud India, after joining Google in March 2022.

Before Google, Sharma was Vice President – Brand Solutions at JioSaavn, where she spent approximately two years.

Sharma also spent nearly six years at LinkedIn. She joined the company in June 2014 as Marketing Director – Talent Solutions, Asia Pacific, and later moved into the role of Sales Director – Marketing Solutions.

Earlier in her career, Sharma spent more than 15 years at IBM across marketing and communications functions. She joined IBM in June 1999 as Marketing Manager – Americas Software Group and subsequently held roles including Manager – SMB Marketing, Director – WebSphere Software Marketing, Director – Marketing and Communications, Software, VP – Marketing and Communications, India, and VP – Marketing, North America Systems and Technology Group.

Her appointment at Salesforce adds to her experience across technology, cloud, public sector and marketing leadership roles.
