Published on: July 21, 2026

OpenAI has strengthened its advertising solutions team in Australia and New Zealand with the appointment of Andy Sinn and Mitch Pilar, reinforcing its investment in the region as it develops its advertising business.

Both executives will be based in OpenAI’s Sydney office and will report to Dave Dugan, Vice President and Head of Global Ads Solutions.

Sinn joins OpenAI after a decade at Meta, where he was responsible for go-to-market strategy and end-to-end advertising product sales across Australia and New Zealand. Pilar brings 12 years of experience from Google, most recently serving as Senior Industry Manager, working with leading brands across multiple industries.

In their new roles, Sinn and Pilar will collaborate with brands and agencies throughout Australia and New Zealand, supporting OpenAI’s expanding advertising solutions and strengthening relationships across the regional market.

An OpenAI spokesperson stated, “OpenAI is excited to welcome two new hires to our growing Australia and New Zealand team. They will work closely with brands and agencies across Australia and New Zealand as we continue to build our advertising solutions.”

The spokesperson further noted, “Australia and New Zealand are hugely important markets for OpenAI, with people increasingly turning to our tools, including ChatGPT, to explore ideas, compare options and make decisions. As we build our ads offering, we will remain guided by our core principles: ensuring advertising is relevant and useful, supports broader access to AI, and preserves the trust that makes ChatGPT valuable.”
