Pocket FM has announced the appointment of Vasu Sharma as its Head of AI, strengthening the platform’s focus on AI-driven storytelling and content innovation. Sharma joins Pocket FM from Meta’s Facebook AI Research (FAIR) division and will report to Prateek Dixit, Co-founder of Pocket FM.
In his new role, Sharma will be responsible for leading AI research and applied innovation across the platform. His mandate includes advancing narrative generation, production intelligence and large-scale localisation to further enhance Pocket FM’s AI-powered content ecosystem.
Sharma brings deep expertise in multimodal and large language models. During his tenure at Meta AI, he contributed to major AI programmes such as Llama, Chameleon, MaVIL and several audio-video foundation models. A prolific researcher, Sharma has authored over 90 papers published at leading global conferences including NeurIPS, CVPR, ACL, EMNLP and ICLR, earning more than 10,000 citations.

As part of his remit, Sharma will further develop Pocket FM’s proprietary AI CoPilot and Pocket LLMs, which support creators with story ideation, drafting, plot development, editing, emotional modulation and multilingual adaptation. He will also focus on scaling AI-assisted production workflows while ensuring that creativity remains human-led.
