Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – 9 September 2025 – Ogilvy today announced a key leadership transition in Vietnam, as CEO Soames Hines prepares to retire in November after a distinguished 45-year career in the advertising industry.
In line with this transition, TraMy Nguyen has been promoted to Managing Director of Ogilvy Vietnam, while Linh Nguyen will continue as Managing Director of T&A Ogilvy and Ogilvy One in Vietnam, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to nurturing talent from within its ranks.
Soames Hines has spent 27 years with Ogilvy, holding CEO roles with Ogilvy and JWT in China, leading global client management roles with JWT in London for Unilever and Diageo, and serving as client-side CMO for LetsBuy.It.com in Europe and Pizza Hut in Vietnam. Before becoming CEO of Ogilvy Vietnam in 2020, Hines spent 12 years at Ogilvy’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong, managing a portfolio of global clients including Yum Brands (KFC and Pizza Hut), Danone, Mondelez, Kimberly-Clark, and Nestlé.
Kent Wertime, Co-CEO of Ogilvy Asia Pacific, said:
“Soames Hines is a true Ogilvy Giant, embodying the spirit and values that define our agency. His warmth, sharp intellect, and unwavering commitment to clients have left a profound impact on our people and our business. We are incredibly grateful for his immense contributions and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
The promotion of TraMy Nguyen and Linh Nguyen highlights Ogilvy’s focus on cultivating leaders from within. Both have been part of Ogilvy Vietnam for 15 years and consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership in the evolving communications landscape.
TraMy Nguyen has played a pivotal role in managing some of Ogilvy’s largest client relationships, integrating creativity, insight, and technology to deliver measurable impact for both global and local brands.
Linh Nguyen has driven growth and innovation at T&A Ogilvy and, earlier this year, took on additional responsibility for leading Ogilvy One in Vietnam.
Kunal Jeswani, CEO of Ogilvy ASEAN, said:
“The elevation of TraMy and Linh fills me with immense pride. They are truly exceptional leaders who have grown tremendously within our system over the past 15 years, consistently demonstrating their passion for the business, driving innovation for our clients and nurturing our next generation of talent. Their leadership will drive the next phase of growth and transformation for Ogilvy in Vietnam. I am incredibly excited to see what they will achieve together.”
This strategic leadership transition positions Ogilvy Vietnam for continued innovation, operational excellence, and sustained growth in the region.
