Sajith Sivanandan Joins Jio Mobile Digital Services as President

Sajith Sivanandan, the former CEO of Disney+ Hotstar, has joined Jio Mobile Digital Services as its President. This new role offers Sivanandan the opportunity to spearhead the development of scalable, AI-powered digital services, contributing significantly to Jio Mobile’s expanding portfolio.

Sivanandan announced his move on LinkedIn, expressing his enthusiasm for the challenges ahead in shaping the future of digital services for Jio Mobile. His leadership at Disney+ Hotstar, where he served as CEO from October 2022 to December 2024, has been a defining period in the platform’s evolution in India. Sivanandan was instrumental in driving business operations, setting strategic priorities, and creating a growth-oriented product roadmap. His role in collaborating with both local leadership and the Disney+ team in the US helped propel Disney+ Hotstar’s continued growth in the highly competitive digital streaming market.

With more than two decades of experience, Sivanandan brings extensive expertise in strategic business management and leadership across global markets. Prior to his tenure at Disney+ Hotstar, he enjoyed a distinguished career at Google, where he served for over 15 years. At Google, Sivanandan was the Managing Director and Business Head of Google Pay and the Next Billion Users Initiatives for the Asia-Pacific region, building key programs aimed at extending Google’s reach to underserved markets. His career began at Star TV India in 1996, where he gained invaluable industry experience.

As Sivanandan embarks on this new journey with Jio Mobile Digital Services, his extensive background in driving innovation and managing large-scale initiatives across different platforms makes him a valuable asset in Jio’s mission to revolutionize digital services for its growing customer base.
