The Australian government’s Master Media Agency, Universal McCann (UM), has successfully held onto its position after a competitive tender process. This is the latest development in the agency’s long-standing cooperation with the government, which started in 2018.
UM will continue to manage the Australian Government’s media strategy, planning, and buying across all media platforms under the terms of the extended contract. Pending final contract execution, the four-year deal—which includes a four-year extension option—is scheduled to start in October. The renewal strengthens UM’s standing as the only premier media partner of the government, extending a fruitful six-year partnership that has included significant national events like the COVID-19 pandemic, federal elections, a census, and a referendum.
As reported by Mumbrella,
Brett Elliott, UM’s managing director, government said,
“There is no greater accolade than being reappointed to the Australian Government master media contract. We know from experience that it takes broad and deep capabilities, purpose-built technology and the right culture and respect to meet the complex advertising needs of government.
