15–25% of Brand Marketing Budgets Are Moving Towards the Creator Economy: IIGC Industry Discussion Report

Published on: October 15, 2026

14th October, 2026 – GURUGRAM, INDIA: The Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC), through its Industry Discussion Report of 100+ brands and marketers, highlights a fundamental shift in India’s marketing landscape, with 15–25% of brand marketing budgets moving towards the creator economy.

Creators are evolving beyond promotional voices into strategic partners for brands, helping build consumer trust, influence consideration, drive conversions and solve real business challenges. From product launches and market expansion to consumer acquisition and e-commerce growth, creator-led marketing is increasingly being integrated into broader business strategies, with a growing focus on measurable outcomes rather than just views, likes and reach.

The industry is also witnessing a shift from one-off influencer campaigns towards long-term creator partnerships. Sustained collaborations allow creators to develop a deeper understanding of brands, communicate more consistently and build stronger connections with audiences. For brands, these relationships offer the opportunity to build credibility over time and evaluate the cumulative impact of creator-led communication.

Creator marketing is increasingly intersecting with performance marketing, consumer insights, community building and commerce. Advances in data, technology and measurement are enabling brands to identify relevant creators, understand audience behaviour and connect campaigns more closely with business objectives.

Sahil Chopra, Chairman of the Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC), said: “Creator marketing is entering a defining phase. The opportunity is no longer just about followers, views or likes; it is about solving real business problems. From building consumer trust and driving consideration to accelerating trials and delivering measurable growth, creators are becoming strategic partners for brands. The future belongs to long-term relationships, credible influence and measurable impact.”

As India’s creator economy continues to mature, transparency, professional standards, responsible practices and robust measurement will be essential to building a sustainable ecosystem. IIGC aims to bring brands, agencies and creators together to advance greater credibility, accountability and impact across the industry.

The future of influence will not be measured by reach alone, but by how meaningfully creators influence consumers, strengthen brands and contribute to business growth.
