Rob Gilby, CEO of Dentsu APAC, has stepped down after two years to pursue new opportunities. He succeeded Ashish Bhasin as CEO of Dentsu APAC in September 2022. His duties included spearheading growth and promoting regional integration while unifying Dentsu’s Asia Pacific business under the “One Dentsu” strategy.
Gilby has over 25 years of experience working in the Asia Pacific region and has nearly three decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry. Gilby strengthened the leadership team, improved core competencies, and matched the new group strategy during his time there to provide comprehensive, client-focused growth solutions spanning all of Dentsu’s practices.
Gilby was president of APAC at Nielsen before joining Dentsu. In that role, he was responsible for cultivating connections with important brands, agencies, and media owners to provide audience insights throughout the media ecosystem. He was the CEO and founder of Blue Hat Ventures, an investment and advisory firm that specializes in finding and bringing to market high-growth companies in Asia Pacific’s digital media market, before this. He has gained significant experience in markets like China, India, Australia, and Southeast Asia while holding important positions at The Walt Disney Company, WarnerMedia, and PwC.
Rob has also held non-exclusive advisory and board positions with Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information, the InfoComm Media Development Authority, and as Chair of the Singapore Media Festival.
