Reddit has appointed Adam Collins as its first Chief Communications Officer (CCO). The appointment marks a significant milestone as the platform continues to scale its global footprint and engage with a broader set of stakeholders.
Collins will report directly to Steve Huffman, Co-founder and CEO of Reddit, and will be responsible for steering both internal and external communications. His mandate includes leading the global communications team, advising senior leadership, and helping shape Reddit’s evolving narrative.
“Reddit’s story has always been written by our communities, through their shared experiences, conversations, and connections,” said Huffman. “As Reddit’s relevance and aspirations continue to grow, it’s more important than ever to tell that story clearly and authentically. Adam has the experience and insight to bring these stories to life and steer us forward.”
Bringing with him over two decades of deep experience in corporate and political communications, Collins is no stranger to high-stakes narratives. Before Reddit, he served as Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer at Molson Coors, where he played a pivotal role in policy, reputation management, and strategic positioning during a period of significant industry transformation.
His prior roles include senior communications positions with the Mayor of Chicago, the Chicago Police Department, and Wisconsin’s Governor, reflecting a career built on navigating complex communications landscapes with credibility and clarity.
“Reddit stands at the intersection of how people connect online today and how people will engage with the technology of tomorrow,” said Collins. “Hundreds of millions of people and counting choose to engage with each other on Reddit daily, and I could not be more excited to be part of the team that will help our incredible community continue to grow.”
Collins, who holds a degree in political science from the University of Louisville, is already a dedicated Redditor, frequenting subreddits like r/nikerunclub, r/CHICubs, and r/Habs. Outside of work, he enjoys sailing, spending time at his kids’ sporting events, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
The company also extended its appreciation to Anna Soellner, Reddit’s former communications leader, who recently stepped down after nearly nine years. Soellner was instrumental in building Reddit’s communications team from the ground up and strengthening the platform’s reputation through several defining chapters.
As Reddit continues to evolve as a central player in digital conversations and next-gen tech adoption, Collins’ arrival signals a renewed focus on crafting a voice as impactful as the communities the platform champions.
