Pinterest Appoints David Brinker as Global Head of Content

Published on: August 7, 2026

Pinterest has appointed David Brinker as its new Global Head of Content, effective August 17, 2026. He will report to Lee Brown, Global Business Officer at Pinterest.

In his new role, Brinker will oversee Pinterest’s global content business and lead the team responsible for developing the content ecosystem that supports visual search, discovery and shopping across the platform.

His responsibilities will span content partnerships and scaled content, creator strategy and monetisation, including affiliate commerce and sponsored content, as well as original content programming, content quality and governance. He will also oversee branded content and sponsorship revenue.

The appointment follows Pinterest’s second-quarter 2026 results, which saw the platform report $1.18 billion in revenue, representing an 18% year-over-year increase. Pinterest also reached a record 640 million monthly active users, with users conducting more than 80 billion searches each month. The company has now recorded its 12th consecutive quarter of record monthly active users.

Pinterest has continued to expand its content and commerce initiatives. Its recent programmes include Bring My Pinterest to Life (BMPTL), a shoppable CTV series featuring creators and experts who help transform users’ Pinterest-inspired ideas into real-world experiences.

The platform has also introduced commerce-focused creator capabilities, including creator storefront tools and Amazon Storefront linking for eligible creators. These features are designed to make the journey from inspiration to purchase more seamless.

Together, these initiatives highlight Pinterest’s focus on creators, experts and tastemakers while strengthening the platform’s role in helping users discover ideas and turn inspiration into action.

Lee Brown said, “David is an operator with the rare mix of creative instinct and deep rigor, and he’ll help us keep building a content ecosystem that’s more useful, more trusted, and more connected to real outcomes for users, creators, and brands. He’s built and led high-performing content and partnerships teams, and I’m excited for the clarity and momentum he’ll bring as we continue to evolve our content strategy and scale what’s working.”

David said, “Content is at the core of Pinterest, and I’m excited to join and help scale an ecosystem that is both inspiring and positive, closing the gap between finding an idea and acting on it. I’m looking forward to partnering with teams across the company to keep raising the bar on content quality and relevance, building experiences that feel increasingly useful, positive, and personalised.”

Brinker joins Pinterest from Character.AI, where he most recently served as Chief Business Officer. Before that, he spent more than seven years at Snap, where he worked on building its global content ecosystem. Earlier in his career, he served as President of the New York Post.

His appointment comes as Pinterest continues to strengthen its content, creator and commerce ecosystem and expand the ways users can move from discovering ideas to taking action.
