Published on: April 23, 2026

LinkedIn has named Dan Shapero as its Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as part of a broader leadership reshuffle within Microsoft.

Shapero will take charge of LinkedIn’s overall operations and leadership team, reporting to Ryan Roslansky, who continues in his role as Executive Vice President overseeing LinkedIn and Microsoft Office.

As part of the restructuring, Mohak Shroff has been appointed President of Platforms & Digital Work. In this position, he will guide technology strategy and long-term innovation across LinkedIn and other areas under Roslansky’s leadership at Microsoft.

Announcing the changes, Roslansky said, “AI is going to transform how people work and grow in their careers faster than most people expect. And LinkedIn and Office would be at the center of that.” He added, “That opportunity is only getting bigger. So we’re scaling the team and talent to match it.”

On Shapero’s appointment, Roslansky said, “Dan has led sales, marketing, and product across the most important parts of this business. He knows our members, our customers, and carries the mission in a way that’s genuinely rare.”

Shapero, who joined LinkedIn in 2008, said, “Today, I’m taking on the role as CEO of LinkedIn.” Reflecting on his journey, he added, “It’s easy to say that my time at the company has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.”

He also said, “LinkedIn is about economic opportunity, the power of economic opportunity and the promise of LinkedIn has never been more important than it is today as the world is transformed by AI.”

On his approach to the role, Shapero noted, “As I step into this role, I’ll start by learning and listening, connecting with our team, members, creators, and customers.”

As part of the transition, engineering leadership responsibilities will be carried forward by Erran Berger and Raghu Hiremagalur.

The leadership update comes at a time when LinkedIn continues to scale rapidly, reporting annual revenues exceeding $19 billion, with a global community of more than 1.3 billion members and over 70 million companies on its platform.
