Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has appointed Aasif Malbari as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 12, 2026. He succeeds Sudhir Sitapati, who stepped down from the role.
Malbari, who previously served as GCPL’s Global Chief Financial Officer, has also been appointed as an Additional Director (Executive, Non-Independent) for a five-year term running from August 12, 2026, to August 11, 2031. His directorship will be subject to retirement by rotation.
Following his elevation to the top leadership role, Malbari relinquished his position as CFO at the close of business on August 11, 2026.
As MD and CEO, Malbari will also serve on GCPL’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Environment, Social & Governance, and Management committees. He will continue to be part of the Risk Management Committee in his capacity as a director.
Malbari brings around three decades of experience spanning the FMCG and automotive sectors. His career includes leadership roles at GCPL, Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever. Before joining GCPL, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and as Director at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. Earlier, he held multiple finance and business positions at Hindustan Unilever.
During his tenure at GCPL, Malbari also played a key role in the transformation of the company’s Africa business, alongside his responsibilities as Global CFO.

Malbari’s appointment comes as GCPL enters its next phase of growth, with the new leadership expected to focus on strengthening performance across its core businesses while pursuing opportunities in emerging categories.
