Published on: September 24, 2026

Bastion has secured the social media mandate for BP Australia and New Zealand following a competitive review, expanding its work in social strategy, content and community management.

Under the new partnership, Bastion will oversee BP’s social presence across both markets, bringing social strategy, content creation, creator partnerships, community management and social listening together within an integrated approach.

The appointment adds to the momentum of Bastion’s Social, Content & Community offering, which currently supports brands including ALDI, TAB, Suntory, SunRice and Cancer Institute NSW.

Working alongside BP’s local teams in Australia and New Zealand, Bastion will use audience insights to shape social content and engagement strategies. The agency will also identify opportunities involving creators and partnerships while highlighting BP’s customer offerings across fuel, convenience, loyalty, partnerships and onsite experiences.

“Winning bp across Australia and New Zealand is a significant endorsement of our social, content & community offering and the role social and content can play in driving business growth,” said Bastion Head of Social, Content and Community Paul Isbell.

“This goes beyond managing channels. It’s about using social and content strategically to demonstrate bp’s value from fuel and convenience to loyalty and experience while building stronger customer relationships. Bastion and bp are united in an ambition for what social and content can deliver for the bp business and we’re incredibly excited to help see it realised.”

BP brand & communications senior manager ANZ Sarah Wilson said the partnership will support the brand’s efforts to connect with customers and showcase its broader offering across Australia and New Zealand.

“Social plays an important role in how we connect with customers and bring the bp experience to life beyond our sites. Bastion brings the strategic thinking, creative capability and local market understanding to help us show up in a more connected and relevant way across Australia and New Zealand. We’re excited to work together to strengthen engagement with our communities and demonstrate the value bp offers across fuel, convenience, loyalty and partnerships,” Bp Brand & communications Senior Manager ANZ Sarah Wilson added.

Through the partnership, Bastion and BP will focus on creating a more connected social presence while strengthening customer engagement across the two markets.
