Sandeep Dutta has been appointed as the new President of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in India and South Asia. This appointment comes almost a year after Vaishali Kasture resigned as the temporary country head. Dutta has worked for Accenture for almost 17 years, most recently as the India Business Lead. He led large-scale, intricate business transformations for clients in all service groups and industries, playing a crucial role in developing and delivering offerings and solutions. He has a great deal of experience overseeing major changes, making him an essential part of AWS’s mission to promote digital innovation.
AWS Vice President for Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ), Jaime Valles, who had been in charge of India operations after Kasture’s departure, announced on November 4. This strategic move represents a turning point in AWS’s mission to enable Indian communities, governments, and enterprises to realize their digital goals.
Dutta brings over twenty years of experience from Accenture India, where he became a thought leader in the technology industry and led major business transformations. Before that, he oversaw the Resources group in India, collaborating with customers in the energy, utilities, chemical, and natural resources sectors.
Jaime Valles reaffirmed his faith in Dutta’s leadership, highlighting his strategic vision and capacity to assist clients in leveraging cloud technology to propel digital innovation and tackle India’s most pressing issues and goals. He said that Dutta had a profound understanding of the opportunities and problems faced by India, and that his strategic vision had been crucial in helping businesses use digital innovation to bring about revolutionary change.
