In a significant move that reinforces its commitment to responsible influencer marketing, the Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC) has welcomed Arpan K. Dastidar, currently a freelancer and former Marketing Lead – B2C Business at Tropical Industries International Pvt. Ltd., to its Advisory Board.
A seasoned leader in Brand Management and Digital Marketing, Arpan brings a wealth of experience and a sharp strategic lens to the table. His appointment follows the recent inclusion of Riya Joseph, Head of Media at Britannia, as the IIGC continues to bring together industry veterans to shape the future of influencer marketing in India.
The IIGC, a newly formed body, is dedicated to building a transparent, structured, and ethical influencer ecosystem. Within just two months of its launch, it introduced the country’s first-ever “Code of Standards” for consumers—an important step in shifting the spotlight toward audience trust and accountability in the digital space.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the role, Arpan shared, “Excited to join the Indian Influencer Governing Council as a member of the advisory board. Looking forward to contributing towards shaping policies for influencer marketing in India — a media channel that’s already come into its own.” His addition helps the council work towards a fairer, more open, and inclusive influencer community.
