NEW YORK, October 15, 2026 — The One Club for Creativity announced the winners of the first “Get Out the Vote” brief competition, a new free global challenge calling on college students around the world to come up with campaigns to drive voter participation.
The initiative, run by the club’s Young One Student Awards programs and Education department, is nonpartisan in its politics, favoring no specific candidate, party, or belief. The only objective is to increase overall voter participation in elections around the world.
Winning $5,000 as the 2026 “Get Out the Vote” grand prize winner is the Off the Record team at Openlearn Academy for “Yes, Everything is Politics”.
Working from the premise that “politics isn’t just something politicians squabble about, it also decides the price of your concert ticket, the bench you sit on, and the trash you throw away”, the Off the Record team — JiYoung Moon, Minyeong Kim, Minseon Kim, Jiwon Lee, Yeokyung Lee, and Seungwon Yeom — created a compelling multimedia campaign where they tagged everyday objects with scannable context, turning “politics doesn’t affect me” into “wait, this is political too?”
Two runner-ups, each receiving $2,500 prizes, are:
Five Young Ones “Get Out the Vote” finalists entries, each winning $1,000, are:
A total of 38 honorable mentions were also awarded. All winning work can be viewed on the GOTV brief competition website.
In addition to receiving cash prizes, top winners will have their work posted on The One Club’s social channels and website, and considered for real-world placement through the club’s Out-of-Home and media partners, including potentially on digital billboards in major high-traffic areas. All winners, finalists, and honorable mention entrants also receive a free one-year membership to The One Club.
“Creativity has the power to make people stop, think, and ultimately act. That’s especially important when it comes to engaging a new generation of voters,” said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO of The One Club for Creativity. “We didn’t want young creatives to lecture their peers about why they should vote. We challenged them to use the language, culture, humor and ideas of their generation to make participation feel relevant. The winning work demonstrates just how powerful creativity can be when it moves beyond simply communicating a message, and inspires people to take action.”
The competition challenged students globally to develop print, video, social media, or activation campaigns that address one of the following categories:
Entries were judged by 18 top creative leaders from around the world, many of whom have served on juries for The One Club’s prestigious global One Show and Art Directors Club ADC Annual Awards, two of the world’s top advertising and design awards competitions. By entering the GOTV competition, students had the rare opportunity to get their work in front of these top-level senior creatives.
While the brief is a global initiative to drive voter participation in all countries, top-winning work entered from the US are planned to run across digital and possibly out-of-home placements during the final stretch of the country’s November midterm elections.
As the world’s leading nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the global creative community, The One Club has a long history of creative activism projects that invite creatives to use their talents to address important causes.
