Google Promotes Kunal Soni to Managing Director – APAC Android Partnerships

Google has promoted Kunal Soni to Managing Director – APAC Android Partnerships, where he will take charge of Android partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region.

Soni shared news of the leadership move through a LinkedIn post. In his expanded role, he will work closely with OEM and carrier partners across APAC, with a focus on strengthening the Android ecosystem and creating new opportunities for app businesses, digital content providers and publishers.

Soni brings more than 15 years of experience at Google, having held several leadership positions across the company’s Google Play and partner ecosystem businesses. Before taking on his latest role, he served as Director, Google Play, APAC Scaled Business & Partner Ecosystem, Director, Google Play – Southeast Asia & Australia, and Head of Business Development, Google Play, Southeast Asia & India.

Across these roles, Soni has built extensive experience in business development, partnerships and commercial strategy while working across multiple markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining Google, Soni held roles at Ernst & Young and British Airways, gaining experience spanning business advisory, sales and commercial strategy.

His appointment comes as Google continues to strengthen Android partnerships across APAC and expand the ecosystem for technology partners, app developers, digital content businesses and publishers.
