Are Media has appointed experienced media and technology leader Bruce Levine as Director of Technology and Product.

Levine joins Are Media from Australian Community Media (ACM), where he served as Chief Technology Officer, leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives across some of Australia’s most recognised community publishing brands. Prior to ACM, he held senior technology leadership roles at Fairfax Media and AGL (Formerly APG). He brings deep expertise spanning product development, engineering, data infrastructure and the technologies that power seamless, audience-first digital experiences.

Levine will lead Are Media’s technology strategy, with a focus on creating a more agile and scalable publishing framework that enhances audience experiences, continues to strengthen data and personalisation capabilities, and enables faster innovation across the business.

Sally Eagle, Chief Executive Officer of Are Media, said the appointment reflects the company’s ambition to continue investing in technology, data and digital experiences that strengthen Are Media’s position as the leading content company for Australian women.

“Are Media has some of the country’s most trusted and influential lifestyle content brands, and we’re focused on ensuring we have the capabilities to deliver those experiences wherever and however audiences choose to engage with us. Bruce brings an exceptional combination of technical expertise and media experience, and his leadership will be instrumental as we continue to evolve and optimise our digital ecosystem.”

The appointment builds on a period of significant momentum for Are Media, including the expansion of its digital and social footprint, investment in video and audio formats, and the launch of new membership products.

Bruce Levine said he was excited by the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of one of Australia’s most iconic lifestyle content businesses.

“Are Media occupies a unique position in the Australian market, with an extraordinary portfolio of brands that have deep relationships with Australian women built over decades. The opportunity is to ensure the technology framework that supports audience consumption allows us to move faster, innovate more effectively and create richer experiences for consumers and partners alike.”

Levine commences at Are Media from 27th July, and will be part of the executive leadership team reporting to Sally Eagle CEO.
