Tata Communications has confirmed that its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, A.S. Lakshminarayanan, has stepped down from his role, concluding his tenure at the end of business on April 13, 2026.
The company acknowledged his leadership and contributions, noting his role in guiding the organisation through a significant phase of its journey. While specific achievements were not outlined, the board and leadership team expressed their gratitude for his service and impact.
This move is part of a planned leadership transition. Earlier in January 2026, the board had named Ganesh Lakshminarayanan as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (Designate), ensuring continuity in leadership. He will now formally assume the role.
Ganesh Lakshminarayanan brings over 30 years of experience across global and domestic markets. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Group Vice President at ServiceNow India, where he focused on driving AI-led digital transformation and strengthening go-to-market strategies.
Prior to that, he held key leadership roles at Bharti Airtel, including CEO of Airtel Business and head of its Enterprise division. His professional journey also includes serving as Chief Operating Officer at Capillary Technologies, along with advisory roles at Ernst & Young and Sequoia Capital.
