UltraTech Cement has announced the appointment of Jayant Dua as Managing Director (Designate), effective April 1, 2026. The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors following a recommendation from the Nomination, Remuneration and Compensation Committee.
In addition, the board has approved his appointment as Additional Director, Managing Director, and Key Managerial Personnel starting January 1, 2027, after the current Managing Director, K. C. Jhanwar, completes his tenure on December 31, 2026. Dua’s proposed tenure as Managing Director will span four years, from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2030, subject to shareholder approval.
Jayant Dua brings more than 37 years of professional experience and has been associated with the Aditya Birla Group since 1996. During his early years with the group, he held several functional and leadership roles within the cement business.
Over the last two decades, Dua has taken on multiple P&L and CEO-level responsibilities across various businesses, including insulators, insurance, Century Cement, and chlor-alkali operations. In 2023, he was appointed Business Head – Renewables and Textiles within the Aditya Birla Group.
Throughout his career with the group, Dua has also received several internal recognitions. These include the Chairman’s Individual Award in the Exceptional Contribution Category in 2002, the Outstanding Leader Award in 2009, and the Leader of Leaders Award in 2022.
