Rakshit Hargave Appointed CEO & Managing Director Of Britannia

Britannia Industries has announced that Rakshit Hargave has officially taken over as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. The company’s board has approved his appointment for a five-year term, subject to shareholder consent.

Sharing his thoughts on stepping into the role, Hargave said he felt privileged to lead the iconic organisation, describing his first day as “amazing” after meeting teams across the company. He added that he looks forward to working together to build Britannia into a total foods global company.

Hargave brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across consumer goods, retail, and manufacturing, having worked extensively in both Indian and international markets.

Before joining Britannia, he served as CEO of Birla Opus, the paints business of the Aditya Birla Group, where he was instrumental in building the venture from the ground up, including establishing manufacturing operations and scaling distribution networks.

Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Beiersdorf AG, overseeing operations across the ASEAN and ANZ regions, and also served as Managing Director of NIVEA India. His career additionally includes leadership positions at Hindustan Unilever as Sales and Marketing Director, as well as stints with Kimberly-Clark Lever, Lakmé Lever, Jubilant Foodworks, and Nestlé India.

Hargave began his professional journey at Tata Motors, gaining early exposure to operations and manufacturing, which later shaped his leadership approach across FMCG and consumer-focused businesses.
