Bruce Williams Elevated To CEO – North America At Dentsu X

Dentsu X has elevated Bruce Williams to the position of Chief Executive Officer for North America. In his expanded mandate, Williams will advance the agency’s ambition to help brands grow through experiences built with precision, empathy, and cultural intelligence. He will also focus on strengthening dentsu X’s ability to integrate media, data, technology, and creativity to deliver measurable and sustainable growth in an increasingly algorithm-driven landscape.

“Bruce has brilliantly led dentsu X, stepping up to support the team and demonstrating not only exceptional leadership, but also unwavering focus on delivering the best outcomes for our clients,” said Will Swayne, Global Practice President for Media and U.S. Media CEO. “Bruce has a vision for meeting clients where they are and bringing them into the future with innovative solutions. As Bruce guides dentsu X forward, I’m confident he will seamlessly unlock new opportunities for growth as we evolve together in the algorithmic era.”

As CEO, Williams will collaborate closely with dentsu X’s leadership to push forward the agency’s strategic priorities—building systems and solutions that drive growth through experimentation, cultural expertise, and a deep understanding of the modern media ecosystem. Anchored in the belief that exceptional experiences create competitive advantage, Williams will champion work that enhances human connection and drives strong commercial outcomes.

His appointment comes after a strong year for dentsu X, which secured Agency of Record duties for brands such as Bet365 and ServiceNow, alongside several top players across technology, entertainment, and retail.

“Having had a long tenure with dentsu, I am deeply honored and thrilled with the opportunity to lead dentsu X,” said Williams. “It’s the next step in my personal journey, yet also one that connects me back to clients, people and a culture in which I proudly have deep roots. I have great respect for dentsu X’s heritage of leading our industry and clients through transformative periods. The current era of media requires this in every facet to deliver growth for our clients. This is where we’ll remain hyper-focused – leading our clients to capitalize on this moment, the development of exceptional experiences that go beyond, and delivering results. I am proud to be a part of it.”

Prior to this role, Williams served as Chief Media Officer, Media Americas at dentsu, where he played a key role in shaping the agency’s media strategy across the region. He has also led performance marketing teams, driving advancements across search, retail, commerce, performance creative, and more. His leadership has been instrumental in developing scalable solutions and innovations that deliver meaningful growth for clients.

Dentsu’s integrated operating model—which brings together media, content, data, and creative—has helped the network achieve +3.5% growth in 2025, underscoring the success of its unified, experience-led approach.
