Visa has named Gaurav Ramdev as its new Head of Marketing for India and South Asia, strengthening the company’s leadership across the region. Based in Mumbai, he began his role in October 2025 and now contributes to both the India–South Asia Leadership Team and the Asia Pacific Marketing Leadership Team.
In his new mandate, Gaurav will lead end-to-end marketing initiatives for the region—including brand development, consumer engagement, partner communication, and enhancing Visa’s visibility across market touchpoints. His work will also focus on deepening strategic narratives and driving value-added marketing solutions.
Gaurav brings extensive experience from senior roles across payments, fintech, and governance technology. Prior to Visa, he served as Executive Vice President, CMO & CGO at Protean eGov Technologies, where he led brand, communications, digital transformation, and growth initiatives. He was also Protean’s first Chief Marketing Officer, establishing its marketing function and contributing to its preparation for public listing.
Before Protean, he spearheaded marketing for RazorpayX, where he built the function from scratch and oversaw brand, product marketing, digital, social, growth, and performance. His leadership played a defining role in accelerating awareness for Razorpay’s neo-banking business and strengthening its acquisition channels.
Beyond the corporate world, Gaurav holds influential industry positions. He is the Co-Chairperson of ASSOCHAM’s National Council of Branding & Marketing and serves on the Consumer Complaint Council at ASCI—an exclusive panel of forty senior marketing leaders.
Gaurav’s appointment signals Visa’s commitment to elevating brand engagement, driving regional storytelling, and fuelling marketing-led innovation across India and South Asia.
