Amazon Web Services India Names Sriram Santhanam As Head Of Startup Business

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has appointed Sriram Santhanam as the new Head of Startup Business for India, strengthening its focus on supporting the country’s fast-growing startup ecosystem.

In his new role, Sriram will lead AWS’s strategy for startups across India, aiming to foster innovation, accelerate cloud adoption, and build stronger partnerships with founders and venture-backed firms. His responsibilities will include guiding startups on architecture excellence, go-to-market strategies, and turning ideas into scalable, sustainable businesses.

Sriram brings over 25 years of experience in B2B sales leadership. At AWS over the past four years, he spearheaded growth in the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) segment, managing a large SaaS portfolio across industries. His expertise in cloud transformation and SaaS innovation will be vital in helping startups leverage AWS for growth.

India’s startup ecosystem, home to over 157,000 DPIIT-recognized startups and more than 123 unicorns, is among the largest globally. AWS aims to help these startups accelerate growth using cloud, AI, and SaaS technologies. This appointment comes at a key time when cloud adoption is driving innovation and competitiveness in India’s digital economy.
