India Today Group Appoints Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor to Lead New Health and Wellness Omni-Platform Brand

The India Today Group has announced the appointment of senior journalist Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor as the head of its soon-to-be-launched health and wellness omni-platform brand.

With over 17 years of experience across leading Indian media houses, Kapoor has built a distinguished career as an editor, anchor, and storyteller. She joins India Today from Moneycontrol, where she served as Editor for over three years, following a notable 12-year tenure at NDTV.

In an internal announcement, Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson of India Today Group, described Kapoor as “a powerhouse storyteller, editor, and on-screen voice who has consistently championed award-winning content.”

Adding to her journalistic credentials, Kapoor is also a Harvard-certified nutritionist, bringing a unique blend of editorial expertise and health knowledge. Her vision for the platform is rooted in delivering science-backed, meaningful conversations on health and wellness, aligning with India’s growing focus on well-being.

Purie highlighted, “Now also a Harvard-certified nutritionist, Sonal is deeply committed to driving meaningful, science-backed conversations on health and well-being at a time when India is undergoing nothing short of a health revolution.”

The upcoming omni-platform will integrate digital, television, and print, offering audiences credible and engaging content on health, fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being.
