Adidas has announced the appointment of Vijay Chauhan as the new General Manager for its India operations, effective August 1, 2025. Chauhan will lead the brand’s business strategy and operations from the Gurugram office, succeeding Neelendra Singh.
Neelendra Singh, who has been with adidas for over 20 years, leaves behind a legacy of brand innovation and growth. Under his leadership, adidas India not only deepened its retail and digital footprint but also carved a significant space in India’s cricketing ecosystem. Singh is widely credited with reinventing the cricket jersey culture in India—an achievement that blended passion with business impact.
Chauhan returns to the adidas family after a successful stint as SVP – International at American Eagle Outfitters in New York. With more than 25 years of experience in the sporting goods and lifestyle sectors, Chauhan brings a rich mix of global exposure and strategic depth. His earlier roles at adidas included General Manager for Thailand and VP of Retail/Franchise for SEAPAC, positioning him as a seasoned leader within the brand’s global ecosystem.
Welcoming Vijay back, Dave Thomas, Managing Director – adidas Emerging Markets, shared, “We’re grateful to Neel for his strong leadership of the India business over the past six years, during which he significantly strengthened adidas’ brand presence, accelerated business growth, and deepened our connection with consumers across India. We also look forward to welcoming Vijay back to the three stripes. With his strong commercial acumen and growth mindset, I’m confident he will continue to drive the adidas brand and business forward in India.”
Chauhan’s appointment comes at a time when adidas India is poised for its next phase of growth, with an increased focus on local culture, sport-led storytelling, and community impact.
