Stellantis, an automobile manufacturer, has appointed Shailesh Hazela as its new CEO and Managing Director. Aditya Jairaj, who is moving to the US, will be replaced by Shailesh. Up until mid-July, Shailesh and Aditya will be in transition.
Shailesh Hazela brings a wealth of experience and a track record of success in fostering growth and innovation. He was previously Vice President, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain for India & Asia Pacific Region at Stellantis. Shailesh has concentrated on growing Stellantis’ supply base in the IAP region and utilizing the supply base throughout India, ASEAN, Korea, Japan, and other regions since joining the company in September 2022.
Shailesh has over 28 years of solid experience in a variety of industries, such as the railroads, automobiles, and telecommunications. Shailesh has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in business administration.
Stellantis has three manufacturing plants (Ranjangaon, Hosur, and Thiruvallur), an ICT Hub (Hyderabad) and a Software Centre (Bengaluru), and two research and development centers in Chennai and Pune. As part of Stellantis’s “Made in India” campaign, India is the only nation that produces the Citroën C5 Aircross outside of France and the four Jeep nameplates—Wrangler, Compass, Meridian, and Grand Cherokee—locally outside of North America.
