Zeno Group has appointed Ekta Thomas as Managing Director of its Australian operations, bringing her back to lead the market after several years in regional leadership roles. In her new position, Thomas will oversee the agency’s business strategy, client relationships, talent and growth initiatives while retaining responsibilities across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Thomas has been part of Zeno Group for more than eight years and previously headed its Australian business. She later transitioned into a regional leadership position as Head of Business Development, APAC, where she worked on expanding client relationships and driving new business opportunities across multiple markets.

Her return to Australia will focus on strengthening the agency’s market position, expanding integrated communications capabilities and building deeper client partnerships. She will also work to connect Australian clients with the expertise, creative resources and specialist capabilities available across Zeno Group’s regional and global network.

In addition to leading the Australian business, Thomas will continue to support Zeno’s broader APAC strategy. Her regional responsibilities will include developing multi-market business opportunities, strengthening relationships with global clients and encouraging greater collaboration across markets.

David Lian, Regional President, Asia Pacific, said: “Ekta knows Zeno Australia from the inside out and brings the added advantage of having spent the past several years driving growth and building relationships across our regional and global network.

“Her appointment brings together the local leadership, commercial experience and broader perspective needed to take our Australian business forward. We see significant opportunity to build on our strengths, deepen our client partnerships, and bring more of Zeno’s integrated capabilities to the Australian market. Ekta is exceptionally well placed to lead that ambition.”

Ekta Thomas said: “Australia is a market I know well and care deeply about, so returning to lead the business feels particularly meaningful.

“There’s a real opportunity to build on the talent and capabilities we have, strengthen our client partnerships and bring fresh thinking and ambition to the work we do.

“Having worked closely with teams and clients across APAC and globally, I’ve seen firsthand the value of connecting the right expertise and ideas across markets. My priority is to bring that thinking and opportunity into Australia, creating great work for our clients, opportunities for our people and a strong foundation for future growth.”
