Viacom18 Expands Mahesh Shetty’s Role to Lead Sales on Digital and TV Platforms
Mahesh Shetty, Viacom18’s Head of Network Sales, has expanded his role to include sales leadership across both TV and digital platforms, as well as sales for JioCinema. Shetty has led the network’s revenue strategies across a variety of verticals since joining Viacom18 in April 2019, including Hindi GEC, Movies, Regional Entertainment, Kids Entertainment, Youth, Music, and English Entertainment. He also oversees the licensing business units for Viacom18 LIVE and Viacom18 Consumer Products.
Mahesh Shetty to lead sales across TV and digital platforms
Before joining Viacom18, he spent 12.5 years at Radio Mirchi, where he was a key architect in driving Mirchi’s growth in the crowded private FM space and establishing Mirchi as the market leader. When Mirchi was a 7-7-station network in India, he joined as vice president and cluster head of Tamil Nadu. Throughout his more than ten-year employment, he assumed several roles before leaving as chief operating officer of a 76-station network.
Prior to coming on board at Radio Mirchi, he worked for PepsiCo International for more than a decade, serving in a variety of sales and marketing capacities in several markets. He was in charge of overseeing and expanding the OnPremises and Modern Trade sales channels for India as well as key national customer relationships in his previous position as General Manager of Premise Sales.
