Food delivery service Swiggy, which plans to enter the public markets, is in advanced talks to appoint Amitesh Jha, a former senior vice president of Flipkart, as the head of its quickly growing Instamart quick commerce division, reports Times of India.
This development also indicates a change in duties for co-founder Phani Kishan Addepalli, the current head of Swiggy Instamart. In March 2023, Addepalli succeeded Karthik Gurumurthy as the leader of Swiggy Instamart, following his resignation from the position. At that time, Instamart had recently grown to be a nearly $1 billion company, and some of its dark stores had just begun to show a profit.
Jha has successfully grown several Flipkart divisions over the previous 13 years. Sriharsha Majety trusted him when he was managing Category and Marketplace for the Walmart-owned business most recently.
