Publicis Group South Asia has announced that Lalatendu Das, the current CEO of Performics India, will be promoted to the newly created position of CEO of Publicis Media South Asia. In his new role, LD will continue to report to Anupriya Acharya, CEO of Publicis Groupe South Asia, and will collaborate closely with key media leaders such as Jai Lala, CEO of Zenith India; Rathi Gangappa, CEO of Starcom India; Sejal Shah, Managing Director of PMX India; and other senior media executives in the region.
In early 2022, LD was appointed CEO of Performics India by Publicis Groupe India. Over the last three years, he has expanded Performics India to the forefront of performance marketing and end-to-end digital solutions. He also added marquee accounts, and fostered innovative products. LD was a Partner and founding member of McKinsey Digital Labs in Asia Pacific at McKinsey & Company for almost ten years before joining Publicis. He co-led the McKinsey Digital/Technology practice there, where he was responsible for customer journey innovation, analytics-led solutions, and digital business transformation. Furthermore, LD has a long career with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), spending more than a decade in important operational positions.
LD’s promotion is an important step in the group’s ongoing expansion and integration of its media offerings in South Asia. In addition to bolstering Publicis Groupe’s media portfolio in the area, he will manage and advance the strategy for Publicis Media’s agencies, such as Zenith, Starcom, and Performics.
Separately, Publicis Media Services’ CEO for South Asia, Tanmay Mohanty, is leaving to pursue new prospects. In addition to the Media Product & Solutions Portfolio, he was in charge of Zenith India’s and Starcom India’s media operations.
