Ogilvy Health Names Mario Muredda as Global CEO

Ogilvy Health has announced a major leadership change, with health industry veteran Mario Muredda taking over as Global CEO, succeeding Kim Johnson, who has decided to pursue new opportunities after three years in the position. Mario will oversee managing every facet of Ogilvy’s Health business, including advertising, public relations and influence, experience and innovation, medical education, brand strategy, and market access. He will also be in charge of boosting Ogilvy Health’s expansion.

Mario Muredda joins as Global CEO of Ogilvy Health

Muredda brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare marketing to Ogilvy Health. He has a track record of success in digital platforms, medical education, professional and consumer advertising, and regulatory communications. He has supported some of the biggest brands in the industry and led multidisciplinary teams in over 30 significant product launches. Muredda has experience with consumer, HCP, patient, and payer audiences.

He previously worked for Omnicom Health Group’s Harrison & Star for more than ten years, including five years as CEO, before joining Ogilvy from Avalare Health, where he was President of Marketing. Muredda, who started his career at Precept as a medical writer, is returning to WPP with this.

In her reflections on her time there, Kim Johnson emphasized the agency’s strong client relationships and global momentum. Muredda was welcomed back to WPP by Wendy Lund, Chief Client Officer at Health@WPP, who emphasized his role in strengthening relationships with health clients.
