Meta is introducing a new way for users to creatively express themselves with the launch of ‘Imagine Me’, a personalized image generation feature powered by Meta AI, now rolling out across Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.
Designed to unlock a more interactive and imaginative chat experience, Imagine Me allows users to create customized AI-generated images of themselves directly within conversations. By simply sending a prompt like “imagine me as a 90s rockstar” or “imagine me as a comic book hero” to @Meta AI in personal or group chats, users will receive a unique, visually stylized image crafted based on their personal appearance and creative request.
To get started, first-time users are prompted to upload a few setup photos which help Meta AI accurately understand and replicate their facial features. Once uploaded, users can activate the feature by sending a message beginning with “Imagine me as…” or a scene-based prompt such as “on the moon,” “in a Renaissance painting,” or “wearing futuristic fashion.”
Once the prompt is received, Meta AI quickly processes the user’s inputs and returns an image tailored to the individual’s likeness, allowing for fun, expressive visuals that can be shared in the same chat.
Users remain in full control of their images and settings. Uploaded photos can be updated or deleted at any time, and preferences can be managed directly within Meta AI settings. Users can also retake their setup photos or turn off the Imagine Me feature as desired.
Meta’s move reflects its ongoing investment in making AI more engaging, personal, and creative within its suite of platforms. With Imagine Me, the company aims to enhance everyday conversations with a layer of imagination and personality—turning prompts into picture-perfect possibilities in seconds.
