Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestle India Limited, will retire on July 31st, 2025, after a distinguished career with the Nestle Group spanning over 26 years. Manish Tiwary of Amazon India has been proposed to lead the Indian division of the major Swiss packaged food company starting on August 1st, 2025. According to the company’s exchange filing, the proposal is subject to all necessary approvals.
Manish is currently the Director of Amazon Digital Services and More Consumer Brands, and he will leave his position on October 30, 2024. Tiwary led the consumer business, which included seller services, to change the way people buy and sell in India. He oversaw Amazon India’s unit for over four years before resigning two months ago. He was a key architect of the company’s explosive growth phase, which saw Amazon India surpass homegrown rival Flipkart to become the country’s symbol of e-commerce.

Tiwary is an accomplished business executive with nearly three decades of experience overseeing large-scale operations and strategic initiatives in the e-commerce and consumer goods industries. He joined Amazon in 2016 following a 20-year career at Unilever, where he worked in sales, marketing, and general management across multiple categories in India, the Gulf, and North Africa. His most recent position was as Managing Director of Unilever (Gulf), where he oversaw a cluster of 34 countries in North Africa and the Middle East, based in Dubai.
Narayanan, also known as the “turnaround CEO,” took over as Nestle India’s CMD in 2015. He is credited with guiding the company through the Nestle Maggi crisis and putting the packaged food giant on a solid growth path. The company introduced numerous new products and started the pet care business in India while he was in charge, strengthening its pipeline for innovation. More recently, Nestle formed a joint venture with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories to expand its nutritional health solutions business in India.
Naryanan has held senior leadership positions in a variety of countries, including Singapore, Egypt, and the Philippines, during his 26-year career at Nestle. The seasoned FMCG executive has worked for Hindustan Unilever and Colgate Palmolive India in the past.
