KRAFTON, Inc. has appointed AI researcher Kangwook Lee as its Chief AI Officer (CAIO), introducing a newly created executive position dedicated to strengthening artificial intelligence research and long-term innovation.
Beyond gaming, Lee revealed plans to expand into physical AI. “Toward this goal, we founded a new physical AI company, Ludo Robotics, and I will be the CTO of it. We are just getting started, and I am really excited about what we can build! We are hiring in the Bay Area and Seoul, so if this sounds like your kind of problem, please reach out.”
Prior to this elevation, Lee headed KRAFTON’s Deep Learning Division. In addition to his CAIO responsibilities, he will serve as Chief Technology Officer at Ludo Robotics, the newly launched venture focused on physical AI research.
Before joining KRAFTON, Lee was a faculty member at University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he progressed from assistant professor to tenured associate professor. Earlier in his academic career, he held research roles at KAIST and was a graduate student researcher and instructor at University of California, Berkeley.
Lee’s industry experience also includes internships at Samsung Electronics and LG Display, along with a software engineering internship at Lytmus, Inc..
