HDFC Life Insurance Company has announced the reappointment of Vibha Padalkar as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a further term of five years.
The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors during its meeting held on April 21, 2026, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Her renewed term will commence from September 12, 2026, subject to necessary approvals from shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting as well as regulatory clearance from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Padalkar has been an integral part of HDFC Life since 2008, holding several key leadership positions over the years. In her current role as MD and CEO, she has been responsible for steering the company’s strategic direction and overall operations.
Under her leadership, HDFC Life has maintained a focus on steady performance and disciplined execution. She has contributed significantly to strengthening the company’s financial foundation and played an important role in its public listing in 2017. Additionally, she has overseen a key merger and acquisition transaction within the life insurance sector.
A qualified member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Padalkar is also actively associated with industry bodies such as the Life Insurance Council.
The company further confirmed that she has not been restricted from holding the position of Director by any directive from the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other regulatory authority.
