Amazon Prime Video Promotes Nikhil Madhok to Head of India Originals

Nikhil Madhok has been promoted to Amazon MGM Studios’ and Prime Video’s Head of Original Content India. He had previously held the position of Head of Hindi Originals at the company. Madhok will probably succeed head of India and SEA Originals at Amazon Prime Video Aparna Purohit, who resigned to work for Red Chillies Entertainment, the production company owned by Shahrukh Khan.

Madhok elevated to Head of India Original content at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios 

On his LinkedIn profile, Madhok made this announcement and talked about how much he enjoyed working at Prime Video, telling amazing stories, and working with creatives. Madhok started his relationship with Prime Video in 2022 as Head of Hindi Originals for Prime Video and Amazon Studios. He was in charge of the idea and introduction of Hotstar Specials. Disney+ Hotstar curated original series like Special Ops, Aarya, Criminal Justice, Human, Grahan, and Ghar Waapsi during his tenure.

Madhok was Head of Products, Asia Pacific, at Discovery Inc. from 2016 to 2017, before joining Disney+ Hotstar. Prior to this, he was a part of Disney Star from 2011 to 2016, performing in a number of prominent roles. At Unilever, he began his career in 2003 as an area sales manager.
