Google Promotes Caroline Oates and Aaron Boekestein to Leadership Roles

Google has promoted Caroline Oates and Aaron Boekestein to senior leadership positions, reshaping its agency and partner operations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific.

Oates, who spent the past nine years leading YouTube’s advertising and programmatic sales across Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed Director of the Agency and Partners team for ANZ.

In her new position, Oates will oversee Google’s commercial strategy and joint initiatives involving media agencies, technology companies and creative partners across the two markets.

Boekestein, who previously held Oates’ new position, has been promoted to Managing Director, Agency and Third-Party Ecosystems, APAC. Based in Singapore, he will lead Google’s newly unified regional organisation and oversee its agency and partner network across Asia-Pacific.

Before taking on the regional role, Boekestein led Google’s advertising partnerships team in Australia and New Zealand. During his tenure, he helped establish growth and commercial frameworks, expanded the Google Honours programme into Accelerate with Google Expert, and increased Creator Marketing Partner coverage.

Having officially assumed his APAC position in early October, Boekestein will bring Google’s partner strategy across the region under a unified structure. The changes are expected to benefit the ANZ market through greater regional support, increased investment in partner enablement, specialised pre-sales engineering and automated capability pathways.

“We are immensely proud to see our local leaders step up into new roles across AuNZ and APAC, and drive our continued commitment to our partners across the region,” said Mel Silva, MD and VP, Google Australia and New Zealand.
