Publicis Groupe has promoted Abhishek Mathur to the role of Director – Digital Buying, expanding his responsibilities across digital media buying and related functions. Mathur announced the development through a post on LinkedIn.
In his new position, Mathur will oversee digital buying operations and contribute to the execution of digital media buying initiatives across the organisation.
Mathur has spent more than two years with Publicis Groupe. He joined the company as Associate Director – Digital Buying in January 2024 and moved into the Director – Digital Buying position in July 2026.
Before joining Publicis Groupe, Mathur spent nearly three years at Mindshare. He served as Digital Director from December 2022 to December 2023, where he managed digital media and technology discussions with clients and developed integrated digital strategies for major launches and campaigns. Earlier, he worked as Manager at Mindshare from February 2021 to November 2022.
Mathur previously worked with OMD Worldwide as Supervisor – Digital Planning from December 2018 to December 2020. His role included managing digital media strategy across programmatic, search, social and display.
From August 2017 to November 2018, he was associated with Performics.Convonix as Associate – Media Solutions, focusing on digital media planning and display advertising.
Mathur began his career at Cybage in Pune, where he worked as an Ad Operations Specialist between June 2015 and July 2017. He handled digital advertising operations across platforms including DCM, DBM, Sizmek, Celtra and Atlas.
Earlier, he worked at Digitrend – Digital Marketing Institute in Lucknow as a Google AdWords Analyst from January to May 2015, gaining experience across Google AdWords, Analytics, SEO and SEM.
With experience spanning digital buying, planning, programmatic, performance marketing and ad operations, Mathur’s latest promotion strengthens his leadership responsibilities within Publicis Groupe’s digital media function.
