Mondelēz International has elevated Nitin Saini to General Manager, Indonesia, marking his move to a broader leadership role in Southeast Asia after serving as Vice President – Marketing for Mondelēz India.

Saini will take charge of the Indonesia business after nearly four years leading marketing for Mondelēz India. He assumed the role of VP – Marketing in November 2022, overseeing the company’s brand portfolio and category P&L, along with key areas including consumer insights and analytics, media and digital.

With more than 23 years at Mondelēz International, Saini has built extensive experience across marketing and business leadership. He joined the company as a Management Trainee and subsequently progressed through several leadership positions across the organisation.

His appointment comes alongside a leadership transition in Mondelēz India, with Vinay Subramanyam taking over as Vice President – Marketing. Subramanyam will succeed Saini in the role and will lead the company’s marketing agenda in India.

Commenting on the appointment, Samir Jain, President – Mondelēz India, said, “We are delighted to welcome Vinay to Mondelēz International. He brings a strong track record of building brands, driving category growth, leading innovation and developing high-performing teams across some of the industry’s most respected consumer companies. As we scale our India business further, Vinay’s leadership and consumer-centric approach will be instrumental in accelerating our next phase of growth.”

Samir added, “I would like to congratulate Nitin on his new role in Southeast Asia as General Manager, Indonesia. Nitin has made a lasting impact on our India business through his strategic leadership, brand building initiatives, and relentless focus on innovation and execution. His contributions have reinforced Mondelez India’s position as one of the country’s leading snacking companies. We wish him continued success in this exciting new chapter in the region.”

The leadership changes mark a new phase for both the Indonesia and India businesses, with Saini taking on responsibility for the Indonesia market and Subramanyam stepping into the marketing leadership role for Mondelēz India.
