Publicis Groupe Wins adidas China Media Account

Published on: August 3, 2026

Publicis Groupe has been appointed to manage adidas‘ media planning and buying operations in China, securing a mandate estimated to be worth $185 million in annual billings.

The account was previously handled by EssenceMediacom, part of WPP.

The appointment follows adidas’ recent global media review, during which the company reassessed its worldwide media partnerships. While Omnicom Media Group was awarded the majority of adidas’ global media business, the sportswear brand conducted a separate review for its China operations, recognising the market’s distinctive and highly digital media landscape.

As a result of that independent pitch process, Publicis Groupe has been selected to oversee adidas’ media strategy, planning and buying across China.

The win further strengthens Publicis Groupe’s presence in one of the world’s largest and most dynamic advertising markets, while supporting adidas’ efforts to drive growth through market-specific media strategies.
