Meta has announced the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick as its new President and Vice Chairman. A long-serving member of Meta’s Board of Directors, Powell McCormick has been closely involved with the company’s strategic direction, particularly as it accelerates investments in frontier AI and personal superintelligence.
In her expanded role, Powell McCormick will join Meta’s management team and play a key role in shaping the company’s overall strategy and execution. She will work closely with Meta’s compute and infrastructure leadership to ensure the company’s multi-billion-dollar investments are aligned with long-term strategic priorities and deliver positive economic outcomes in the regions where Meta operates globally.
She will also lead initiatives focused on developing new strategic capital partnerships and exploring innovative ways to strengthen Meta’s long-term investment capacity.
“Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth as the company’s President and Vice Chairman,” said Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Powell McCormick brings more than 25 years of experience spanning global finance, national security, and economic development. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where she was a partner and held several senior leadership roles, including serving on the firm’s Management Committee and leading its Global Sovereign Investment Banking business. During her tenure, she also led major economic empowerment initiatives such as 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses, and One Million Black Women.
Her public service career includes senior roles under two US administrations. She served as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald J. Trump and earlier as Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during President George W. Bush’s administration.
Prior to joining Meta, Powell McCormick most recently held the role of Vice Chair, President, and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners.
